VPN servers in Russia face a massive new wave of blocks

Russia has experienced a new wave of restrictions that caused a significant portion of popular bypass servers to stop functioning. Studies conducted in April 2026 also revealed serious user privacy vulnerabilities when using mobile software. Out of thirty analyzed popular applications, twenty-two are capable of detecting active secure connections on the device.
Furthermore, nineteen of these programs transmit information about user network activity to their servers. At the same time, seven major services, including Wildberries, 2GIS, MTS, Ozon, Megamarket, RuStore, and Odnoklassniki, obtain a complete list of bypass programs installed on the device.
