A new type of proxy in Telegram and its features

The emergence of WEB Proxy does not guarantee absolute security for Telegram, but it significantly complicates its blocking. The new technology uses a modified data transfer mechanism that masks itself as regular web traffic, which reduces the likelihood of detection. Developers plan to test this solution once it is fully integrated into client applications.
Configuration features and support for the new protocol
The new feature is already built into the connection settings of the desktop version of Telegram for Windows, macOS, and Linux, starting with version 7.1, released on August 21. Active testing is underway on mobile platforms: WEB Proxy is already present in the beta version for Android, and an experimental version for iOS is being developed, which is currently unavailable to the general public.
After the testing phase is complete, the connection process will likely be similar to setting up MTProxy. Users will need a working proxy server address, which can be configured independently, purchased, or found in open sources. To activate it, one will only need to go to the advanced connection settings in the application menu and enter the required parameters.
A simplified launch via special links, similar to those used for MTProxy, is also provided. At this stage, the desktop client already supports automatic configuration using such addresses, while on other platforms, clicking the link currently only opens a service chatbot without applying the configuration.
